Learn How To Install Every Incompatible Apps From Android Market

Ever tried to download and run an app on your Android phone but not being able to do so due to incompatbility? Well, I guess, a lot of us would have faced all that incompatible stuff a lot of times. This happens mostly with Android apps from the market – and Murphy’s Law seems to be in full-force: the more I want the app, the more chances of it being incompatible with my Android!! Ever felt that?

The method I am going to share with you today is of utmost importance due to the 10 day 10 cents sale on Android Market. By now you must have heard a little about the build.propfile. This is kind of like the basic info file which stores all kind of important and basic information of your device including the identity. thanks o root access you can edit the file and turn it from Nexus One to Nexus S in mere seconds ! This way it will fool the market into thinking that it is Nexus S and it will allow you to download the application. It still may not work on your device though because you have not changed the hardware.

Pre-requisite: Your android phone must be Rooted.

Step 1. Clear Market Cache & Data. Settings > Applications > All > Market > Clear data.

Step 2. Install Prop Editor from here.

Take backup of existing build.prop file.

Step 3. Open Prop Editor click on build.prop and look for following keys and enter values corresponding to them, manually:

ro.product.model=Nexus S
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
ro.build.fingerprint=google/soju/crespo:2.3.4/GRJ22/121341:user/release-keys
ro.build.description=soju-user 2.3.4 GRJ22 121341 release-keys

The last one is not always required.

Step 4. When done, press menu > save. Reboot phone.

Step 5. Launch Market and search for the app, your phone should be detected as Nexus S and all apps will be visible.
